Mr Onwudike graduated in medicine from the University College Hospital Ibadan Nigeria in 1984. His six-year higher surgical training in general and vascular surgery was centred in London within the North East Thames Deanery between 1993 and 1999. Previously he had broad training in general surgery in Nigeria and subsequently trained in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery in Nigeria and the United Kingdom before opting for general and vascular surgery. He was a Research Registrar in experimental vascular surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital where he studied ischaemia-reperfusion injury and Specialist Registrar in the Vascular units of Whipps Cross Hospital, University College London Hospitals including The Middlesex Hospital, St Bartholomew and Royal London Hospitals. Mr Onwudike also benefited from a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Foundation Hospital Marseilles, France.

He was awarded the intercollegiate FRCS in general surgery with vascular subspecialisation in January 1999 and the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in June 1999.

Mr Onwudike is a member of the European Society of Vascular Surgeons, The Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland and The International Society for Sympathetic Surgery (ISS). The ISS is devoted to excellence in surgery of the sympathetic trunk mostly for hyperhidrosis , facial blushing and similar conditions. Mr Onwudike’s research interests include quality of life and varicose veins, venous ulcers, and hyperhidrosis. He has published papers and presented in national and international meetings. He is an accredited trainer and an examiner for the Inter-Collegiate Board of the Surgical Royal Colleges.

Mr Onwudike will see all aspects of vascular surgery. He has special interests in varicose veins including limb and facial thread veins, carotid surgery, and lower limb revascularization. Mr Onwudike has a very special interest in hyperhidrosis and facial blushing which he treats with the most modern surgical (Video Assisted Thoracic Sympathectomy) and non surgical techniques including Botulunium Toxin injections.
